Pyramid Parts employees continue building upon their disciplined efforts to maintain and strengthen their ISO 9000-compliant quality management system – all to the benefit not only of their customers but also to the projected growth of their business.
Pyramid provides quality replacement parts at value prices for the highly competitive mining equipment industry. To help ensure their ability to provide their customers with productive, reliable, cost-reducing parts, Pyramid employees set out in 2004 to achieve ISO 9000:2004 quality system compliance.
Pyramid recently completed their annual ISO 9000 quality system audit and learned that their quality system continues to meet the international quality standard.
"This audit demonstrates Pyramids commitment to World Class quality", notes Bob Reynolds, Milwaukee Quality Systems Manager. "Top management along with all employees demonstrated their commitment to meeting quality standards and company / department objectives."
Throughout its existence, Pyramid Parts employees have been highly focused on excellence in all facets of their business. Led by Pyramid President, Mark Verdova, they determined in 2004 that their ability to meet customer quality expectations would be a key factor in their ability to compete and grow in the mining industry.
With great focus and determination, a gap analysis was performed by an external firm. Our objective was to achieve ISO 9000 quality standard compliance. Pyramid employees achieved their quality objective and have remained focused on continuous improvement in the areas of benchmarking, decision-making tools, product / service design, process design and purchasing in order to satisfy their customers.
Beyond increasing their ability to meet customer value requirements, Pyramid employees are using their quality management system to continually improve upon Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in several areas, including …
- Improve velocity from quote response time to on-time delivery
- Inventory reduction and control toward the company’s working capital objectives
- Materials cost reduction and control
- Employee involvement as manifested in greater communication, teamwork and participation in making decisions
- Continuing growth in sales revenue
"Pyramid Parts plays an important role in our overall efforts to provide our customers with valuable products and service support,” notes Mark Hardwick, Senior VP and Managing Director, MinePro Americas North. “Pyramid provides us with a huge opportunity to keep our customers’ non-P&H machines running while reducing their cost per unit produced. Thanks to their discipline and devotion to the highest of quality standards, Pyramid employees continue to produce year-over-year growth due to increased demand, continuing product line expansion, strong regional technical product support, a significant inventory investment and more global customers.”
